Optimising design and de-risking projects - More into Less
An automated vehicle storage system is a very large machine. Probably the largest machine in the building. As such, our first - and most important - piece of advice is to “design the building around the system - not the system around the building” to gain maximum efficiency from such products.
Car Cram is there from concept to completion. The process of concept development through to system completion can take up to four years or more. Your project needs a reliable service to ensure continuity of the nuances of your project such that they are not lost when the project is passed through many hands. Car Cram is that service.
Concept Development
The most important service offered by Car Cram is to be at the table when you first take pen to paper to design your building.
From that time, Car Cram will apply their full support to ensure the inclusion of an automated vehicle storage system is a smooth process with high levels of communication with the coordination team and other stakeholders.
As part of the process, we offer a free concept to help visualise the effect on the building and the efficiency gained by deploying a system in your project. This is where we really flex our Tetris skills and demonstrate the reasons why we are the best at what we do in Australia and New Zealand.
Then, when the design has matured, we can accompany your team to meetings with bodies such as fire and rescue authorities, city councils and building certifiers.
Extensive Network Access
Throughout the concept development phase, Car Cram has the ability to tap into its extensive network of design stakeholders.
With a key emphasis on integrity of design and actions, Car Cram has developed close relations with most traffic engineers, structural engineers, building certifiers, architects, client-side project managers, builders and fire and rescue services.
By engaging Car Cram, you are also engaging with an extensive network of associated businesses and bodies.
Design Coordination
Car Cram offers a paid service to deliver the detailed design of your automated vehicle storage system such that it can be included into the CAD files for the project.
This is the most important step of the concept-to-design process and significantly reduces the risks associated with the inclusion of such large products into buildings. Over a 4 to 8 week period, Car Cram will work closely with your team to ensure all matters are considered in the final design such that you can go to tender knowing there will be minimal concerns.
The cost of this service is then deducted from the eventual purchase price of the full system, but allows for the detailed design to be completed months ahead of the full system purchase execution.
Project Management
Once a system has been selected, Car Cram will facilitate the subcontract execution and manage the project through to successful hand over.
We will engage with the builder, be based on site for the duration of the installation, manage safety, schedule deliveries and facilitate timing and engagement of trades.
Weekly reports on progress are offered along with updated Gantt charts.
System Installation and Commissioning
Our on-site installation team - Car Cram Contracting - deliver a highly professional and integrated approach to managing a very complex project. With an obvious focus on minimising the risk to the builder, we are active even before the ink on a contract is dry.
The team is a carefully selected group of enthusiastic and skilled tradespeople with a wide range of recognised skills. We have structured our company such that we can easily expand and contract to meet any installation requirement across Australia and to the highest levels of quality.
Builders whom have experienced our installation services remain impressed with our abilities and professionalism. We challenge you to ask them!
Expert Witness and Peer Reviews
With extensive experience in vehicle storage systems, Car Cram offers representation as an Expert Witness when things go wrong with substandard systems and products. We will facilitate site visits, data collection, material testing, and assessment against Standards to deliver a compliant report for your case.
If you are concerned about the system you are about to purchase, Car Cram can also provide a Peer Review service where we assess the design and proposal of the supplier you are considering. We provide objective and unbiased advice such that any risks are identified for your action. Should you remain concerned, you can consider our project management offer.
