I'll admit, I almost ran out of ideas to help Growland with their need for a fully automated parking system. Almost!
The original idea was to park all cars in a system within the basement - deep into the ground. But constraints within the basement reduced the effectiveness of our best ideas. So, in a last ditch attempt at a solution before I left the design meeting, I suggested the Sky Garage idea...
Growland were driven by a powerful desire to deliver only the very best for their project and were excited about the exclusivity offered by such an exciting idea. Instead of laughing off the idea, they embraced the exclusivity offered by such an extravagant notion: Parking your car in your apartment - up to 19 storeys into the sky!
Two years later, I am kindly invited to a VIP exclusive preview of the completed design at the Bentley Cars showroom. Neue Grand is proudly unveiled by Growland CEO, Ronald Chan to the enthusiastic applause of the crowd.
Located at 613 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne, Neue Grand boasts 19 full-floor apartments. Each apartment comprised of 360 square metres of pure luxury inclusive of two parking spaces on each apartment level - all the way up the tower.
Car Cram and Wohr combined to deliver the design for the fully automated car parking system for the tower. At its core is the Wohr Multiparker 750. We have customised the system to meet the exacting needs of the project and to deliver a rare chance for those whom appreciate their motor vehicles.
Users will drive their motor car into a bespoke garage in the basement. After exiting their vehicle, the system will take the car up the side of the tower and to the apartment of the driver in a theatre of German engineered perfection and smoothly choreographed motion. See the below clip to sample the experience offered to purchasers.
Car Cram and Wohr and Wohr Parking Systems Australia remain very pleased to be included into this most exciting project with Growland, Rothe Lowman and Gallagher Jeffs. Oh, and of course, Bentley motor cars!
